delete your account

here's exactly what happens, how long it takes, and what stays private along the way.

tended is built around a pairing, not a single account. because of that, deleting your account is a shared decision — both people in the pairing confirm it together, the same way pairing itself began.

this keeps one partner from being able to erase shared memories, photos, and history without the other knowing.

  1. open the us screen from the main tab bar, go to "us" — your shared settings live here, alongside your partner's.
  2. start with "something has changed" this begins a 30-day unpairing period. either partner can request it, and either can change their mind during those 30 days.
  3. choose "end pairing forever" once you're in the unpairing period, this option appears — it's the one that actually deletes your accounts and data, not just the pairing itself.
  4. your partner confirms too a request alone doesn't delete anything. the other partner has to open the app and confirm separately, on their own device.
  5. a final 30-day window once you've both confirmed, deletion is scheduled 30 days out. you can still use the app normally during this time. either partner can also choose to skip the wait and finish sooner, once both of you have already agreed.

this is permanent. once the 30-day window closes, there's no recovering any of it.

if you've lost access to your device or can't complete this in-app for any reason, reach out directly and we'll take care of it.
